edited March 2014 in Breast Cancer #1
I am 41 years old mother of 4, I have had numerous health issues including sarcoidosis, which is an autoimune disease, squamous cell skin cancer, and cervical cancer twice in which I had a modified radical hysterectomy the first time and internal/external pelvic radiation the 2nd time. All of this has been in the last five years. Lets just say the millinneum has not been good to me. Any way, at my 6 month check in October, my doctor sent me for a screening mammogram and I was called back for a density that they thought was folded breast tissue. I went in for a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound. The diagnostic mammogram showed a nodule clear as day and they couldn't find it on an ultrasound. I was then dismissed and told to come back in 4 to 6 months to redo the tests. My appointment is not till March but I have been stressing over this ever since. The radiologist said that she would love to biopsy this but since the ultrasound did not pick it up her stereotactic equipment would not locate it either. I called my doctor and he did not sound too concerned but he did tell me to move the appointment up a couple months. Origianally, I made the appointment in May. I just keep thinking that due to my history, they would be a little more urgent on this. When I received my report, it just said recommended follow up 5 months due to a nodule of undetermined significance. When I got cervical cancer the 2nd time, the doctors almost missed that I was having problems. I went in for a 6 month checkup and my test was lost for 5 weeks and I was not notified of any red flags. Then when I went to get retested a month later it was full blown cancer. If anyone has any information on this to ease my fears I would really appreciate it. Thanks:)

Based on your autoimmune deficiency history, I recommend you read this site:

Apparently, that herb specifically strenghten your immune system and fight against cancer cells. Read the full content including research papers published through renowned institutes. If you are convinced on its potency, this could be an alternative method to deal with your health issues. Good luck to you.

The most important thing for me was to have a medical team that listened to my concerns and took action to bring me peace of mind. My doctors all set up a regular schedule of how often they each needed to see me but I was told that I could call for an "extra" appointment any time. If I need confirmation that I'm OK, they are willing to run any test at any time. I hate tests so I've never asked. My advice to you is to consider a second or even third opinion. You have a right to treatment by doctors who share your concerns and don't dismiss you out of hand. To be fare, I'd let my doctor know how worried I was and request tests to disprove my concerns. Failing that I'd be looking for a new doctor, sooner rather than later. Best of luck.

Weird girl! I was diagnosed at the age of 37 with sarcoidosis, 9 months later Parkinson's and 10 months later breast cancer.
    Best advice...don't wait!
If they can see it on mammo it's there. They can do a biopsy or even a lumpectomy, which is what I would personally prefer. If it's benign great! If not a lot can happen in 60-90 days, especially if aggressive and a funky immune system like I have.
God bless and GO WITH YOUR FEELINGS!
That is God speaking to you.

That is wierd do you think that the sarcoid had something to do with it all. I never got sick with just ordinary colds, whenever I did get sick it always turned out to be pneumonia. Before I was diagnosed with Sarcoid, I coughed up blood for 6 months and they couldn't figure out why until they finally did an open lung biopsy. The doctors kept on thinking it would pass...how stupid. I kept on telling them this wasn't normal, and whats wierd everything is on my left side. The sarcoid was in my left lung, the cervical cancer started on my left side, the skin cancer too and now the nodule. Also, I remember my pulmonologist who is a specialist in sarcoid, she told me to make sure I go in for my yearly checkups and not to miss. So now I'm thinking did she know something. Its been a while since I have been back to her and I just had a chest x-ray, since it was a year since my last and I think that was clear because they didn't call me on it. Anyway, my gut feeling was to push this but I didn't want to cry wolf if nothing was wrong. Thanks so much everyone for answering me and God bless you all too:)
