I have a weird question and am too embarrassed to ask my doctor. I finished chemo in April and have 6 weeks of radiation, which finished in June. My hair has grown back into a short pixie cut. My question is whenever I wash my hair, or even urinate, I smell chemicals. Has anybody else had this same smell? I was on the FAC regimen, 6 rounds. Any feedback would be appreciated.

No question is weird when it comes to this stuff. Drink more water and eventually the smell will go away.

Only weird people... JUST KIDDING! :-) As a matter of fact, the chemicals the doctors gave you will probably remain in your for a while. I have heard it takes about two years for a person to be entirely clear of chemicals. Drink plenty of fluids and eventually the smell will go away. I would ask your doctor about these things. Trust me.. I have asked my doctor more embarrasing and off-the-wall stuff, that he can probably write a book! Hope this helps. God bless.

I agree that there is no question too weird. You should be able to ask your doctor anything. They have probably heard it all, but you never know you could come up with the one they no one as ever asked. My chemo is a year out and I am still having weird smells but they get lighter and lighter. I also had very oily scalp but it has gotten better too.
