Hi, Everybody,

It's been about 8 weeks since my last chemo and my hair regrowth seems slow. Can anyone else tell me how their's grew back?

Thanks,
Loretta

I know it's hard, but patience is the name of the game! I've heard it takes on average about 6 months to get back to a "very short" hairstyle, and that was about what it was for me. My last chemo was Apr 30 '04. My daughter was married the end of Sept that year, and while I was feeling like my old self by then, My hair was somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2" long. I chose to wear my wig until after the wedding because it was very close to my normal hairstyle and I wanted to look like myself in the pictures! You will get your hair back, but not as quickly as you'd like, and it may be different. Mine came back virtually the same color and same amount of grey, but very curly. A year later most of the curl is gone, but it's still wavy and before it was always poker straight!

Good luck and God bless, Di

Four months after I finished chemo I threw off the wig, My hair came in very very grey, which it was not when it fell out also terribly curly. After about a year the color returned to just some grey and wavey like it was. I sure hated the grey and wasn't that happy with a curly mop but was so glad to have hair that after three years I still haven't cut it. It won't be long and you will be shaving your legs again and everything will be back to normal. God Bless Linda

    Hi Loretta
My hair came back after 6 months. I waited a little longer than that to get out of wearing my wigs. My hair came back a darker brown and very curly. I had straight hair before chemo. I have since had my hair lightened and the curls changed a wavy. Soon you will be able to style your hair again.

for me it took a while and came back grey and curly , it used to be straight, I'm happy of the new look I cover my grey with shampoo color and it worked fine. I'm sure you'll be glad to know that it WILL come back.

Thanks, Di, Linda, Kathy and Catita...I guess I'll be patient. My hair is fuzzy right now but least when I ride in my convertible, I can feel a little wind resistence on my head!

    Dear Ericka,

I am sorry you have to go through chemo again! That has to be the hardest thing I have done in my life and I can't imagine having to go through it again. I'll keep you in my prayers!

    Hi, Ericka
good luck with your new chemo.
Is the name of that product "Do grow," I can't find anything by that name on the internet, but I'm interested in trying it.

    Dear LoreetaB.,
I know everyones hair grows at it's own pace.Mine came in very fast, thick and curly.I would use a fingernail brush on my scalp everynight while I showered. I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but I was very happy how fast and thick mine came in. You could try it. My friend said hers came in very thin and slow. Good luck
