Andrea, I'm sorry you feel so awful, but it sounds like things are not going well right now. I don't know if any of us have enough information to give you an answer to your questions. When my dad's cancer spread to his liver, he got very jaundiced, and he was not getting any chemo at that point. You need to ask your dad's doctor about how sick he is, and what the future holds for him. People can live with a very sick liver for a while, but they usually get progressively more ill. I would ask your dad's doctor if he could recommend somewhere for you to get some added support...does his office have a nurse or social worker you could talk with to get more info? Judy

honey, take a deep breath.

Yes, he might die. But miracles do happen. Life happens. Death is a part of life. Death is a reality that breathes down our necks when we are living with cancer. Jaundice is not good. The liver is overloaded but the human body is an amazing piece of handiwork.

Just when I thought my sister was going to go in the night and I was going to get that middle of the night phone call she would hang on. Not only did she hang on but I'd get the morning phone call asking me if I could take her shopping. She was emaciated and people could not help but stare at her tiny sickly yellowed and bloated-belly body. But she hung on like a real trooper.

She found comfort in her new baby and her family and friends. She even worked from home while lying in bed and conducting her office workers from afar.

She liked to float in her pool when the pain was really bad. She found solace in chocolates hidden from our view.

But she lived far longer than any of us imagined she could have. He may too!

If today he is alive, then rejoice.

None of us know if we have tomorrow.

peace, emily who sends you a big hug
