As long time survivor I often think about those who must face this long after my fight is done. It never stops amazing me just how many amazing stories are out there to give one hope, making me realize how anything is possible. At the time of my fight I had already read most self help books but still didn't seem to be getting the message. Guess I did need that wack over the head called cancer.
There were years when I was beginning to buy into the sickness and disabilities that the doctors thought I should just learn to live with, most of them causing their own pain. Instead I fought like hell in anyway I knew how to regain back just a little of my former life. There seems to always be a title of a book that grabs me and just like before I am trying to change things about me and it seems that will be forever more.
I use to watch Oprah and really didn't like the woman she was but now I see a woman who is just trying to help make a difference in this world and man does she give back. With the gratitude I have found, my life will never be the same and that is a good thing because it is obvious to me what I was doing before just wasn't working.
I hope this finds you well and wishing you a soft place to go.
Be good to yourself always,
Tara
