I am recovering from radition treatments to the throat and neck area. My Doctor now tells me that I have some throid damage from the treatment and my thyroid is only functioning at about 70%. Has anyone else expierienced this and what can I expect.

I had radiation treatment only. I had hodgkins 1a and it did a real number on my whole system. My thyroid was also affected. I now take synthroid every day. I still don't have the exact dose that is good for me because they have to move slowly with thyroid medication. At least the cancer is gone for now! Sandi

I am getting my blood re-tested for the same reason. Will keep you posted. I was told that medication (a pill) will take care of the problem.
