laser surgery vs. cold-knife conization

I've been recently diagnosed with cervical cancer (Stage 0) and my OBGYN is recommending surgery. I am unable to have a LEEP b/c the cancerous cells are too close to my vaginal walls. She is recommending a cold-knife conization under general anethesia (sp?). What are the differences/benefits of a knife conization vs laser surgery? Any info would be great!
