soreness in muscles and joints

just wanted to know if anyone experienced this during radiation treatments. I did 6 mos. chemo and did not have the soreness just was weak. Started to feel pretty well during the first few weeks of rad treatments but now I am experiencing soreness in muscles and joints . I have had 25 tratments so far. Is this normal or should I be concerned. Thanks for any advice.

    I've heard tiredness is a normal side effect, but I would definitely ask your radiologist about soreness. I have had a week of radiation on my back for bone mets and feel better than I have in months! Good luck.

    Hi Lori...did you take Taxotere or Taxol during your chemo? I think those two drugs really do a number on your joints and you might not see the effects right away. I finished chemo in May of 2003 and my joints didn't starting aching til much later.

    I had 33 radiation treatments and never had joint pain associated with them but I do now so I figure its either residual effects of the taxotere or else the tamoxifen I'm taking now.

    hi this is normal i think i only did 10 radition treatments and my muscles are so week that i have a hard time clibming starir or getting in and out of our pickup with out a foot stool.i dont know if it is do to the radtion or also the med they have me on whick is DExamothisaon.which we are winnen me off of but it is such a big drug that they have too take you to half a tab before going off completly all be glad when i get my normal self back.Hopefully this eased your worrries like i said i think it is normal i wish you the best of luck on beating the cancer.Bunnie

    The effect of the chemotherapy is cumulative, so you do not feel the full debilitating wallop until after the last treatment, and I agree with Karen that taxotere can cause horrific joint pain and present significant challenges in walking, sleeping, etc. My internist's unwillingness to assist me in finding adequate pain management during that terrible period of time is currently cause for considering dumping the idiot.

    my upper back is sore and my right hand is numb. I finished 8 chemo treatments April 1,04. My legs are weak also.I also started taking Arimidex in June. I hope everyone feels better soon.
