distant recurrence

I went to MD Anderson for my surgery in Feb 2003 and I go back every 6 months for a mammo and other tests. I felt like it was too far from home to use the medical oncol and radiation oncol but they wanted me to have a consultation with them anyway before I came home. I'm glad I did, I gained a lot of knowledge so when I talked to my oncols at home they made sense to me. I was very impressed with MD Anderson. All the doctors, technicans and nurses were very caring and compasionate. Also, your wife will have a whole team of doctors who discuss her case - not just the surgeon. Each department in MD Andersons' have a set of doctors that only "do" their department so your wife's doctors will specialize in breast cancer. This was very comforting to me. MS Anderson also has the reputation of being one of the best cancer centers. I would encourage anyone to go there. I've heard of many cases where people go there as a last resort because their home doctors have given up and the patients do very well.

Sorry to hear about your wife. I had uterine cancer in Aug. 2000. I just wanted to let you know that there is another treatment for cancer. It is called IPT, which is short for Insulin Potentiation Therapy. There are only a few doctors that administer it. There is one here in Oak Park, Ill. He has written a book his name is Dr. Ross Hauser. He has cured many people with cancer, even cancer patients that there regular doctors gave them one month to live. Since I myself had cancer I have done alot of reading and research and can not believe all the different tests and treatments that are out there for cancer patients that the doctors do not tell us.
