In 2000, I had mesorectal excision with wide margin, a permanant colostomy, & chemo/radiation.

My recent CT revealed several-(20+) "suspicious nodules,1-3 mm in the lungs, and one enlarged lymph node which showed no change since last CT".
Next step is a Laproscopic Biopsy to determine malignancy..
I'm wondering, esp. if these nodes turn out to be
mets, where else the cancer might have traveled, and if location of cancer determines treatment protocal. Obviously brain mets would require radiology.. From what I've read so far, metastatic colorectal cancer likes to go to brain, bone, liver, lungs. Is a PET scan needed once lung mets are confirmed? Are there any other tests?
