Has anyone heard of the cancer vaccine Resan? I have done some research online about this, and I know there have been trials done for several years. I was diagnosed with stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma in February of this year, had a mastectomy and am undergoing chemotherapy (just had 3rd treatment of AC). Would love to hear from anyone who has heard of this or has participated in the trials!

Heard of a vaccine called Theratope, but not Resan. I'm a stage 4 w/ bone mets, diagnosed June of 2000. Are there any trials going on now w/ Resan? I have a friend that is just about to start a Theratope trial. By the way, welcome to the site. God bless. hummingbyrd

Resan has not been approved by the FDA I believe primarily because of a) the cost of the trials and b) the claim that one vaccine can actually target a variety of tumors. Traditionally different tumors get different treatments so there is a lot of skepticsm about the "one size fits all claims" and the FDA wants the trials to test each type of tumors response which will be a lot more expensive. (all comes to the almighty buck) My ten cents worth is if people are willing to participate in such a trial, get on with it!!! Love and laughter.
