I think the information that you are reffering to is in relationship to cervical cancer. The reason that this is such big news in the oral cancer community is that many of those that have oral cancers but were never tobacco users ( the primary risk factor) have a cancer causing virus HPV 16/18 which causes 95% of all cervical cancers in women.
