i last posted a couple of weeks ago about starting rads. well, i'm still waiting. all i've done since last Tues. is lay on that stupid table getting more marks all over my chest. today i go for more. yesterday i went for simulations and i'm so big that i had to use the cup. my rad doc wasn't happy with the way things looked and told me it would take too much lung and she didn't like it. so today i go for more marking and may not get to use the cup which would have helped me not get too burned on the side of my boob where i just flop over. i've gone to bed every night very tired and i sleep too hard and wake still tired. i'm just ready to get this going. WHEN i get to start it will be every day for 6 weeks. yea. :( also there are alot of other things going on outside of my ca and i'm just really, really tired. prayers would be greatfully appreciated. God bless. Vicki

Vicki, we will all be praying for you. Each one of us has been discouraged like that so we understand your frustration. You can overcome this; just remember we are all sending you the strength and peace you need right now. Cathy in FL

    Vicki,
I will pray for you. I do hope everything goes ok with the radiation. I am still on chemo and know nothing about how radiation works so I am pretty clueless with that. It sounds though that you are just ready to get it started and over with. All my best is being sent to you.
    God Bless,
    Angel

    Vicki,
I too started radiation very recently. My experience is similar to yours, in that they marked me and then when they started the simulation the doctor wasn't happy. And by the end when they stood me up (after over an hour, 15 xrays, in a cold room in an uncomfortable position) I fainted. Hit my head on the table as I went down.
My experience of radiation has been far from "minimal." I was burned by the end of the second day, and now my entire breast is covered with an oozing rash. And I've only had 14 treatments. And they keep saying that it is "normal" but too soon. That doens't really help. And I was told 36 treatments, which is over 7 weeks.
Please email me if you would like at GaHendrick@aol.com

I had 28 radiations. It really made me very tired, and the last 2 and a half weeks I had bad burns under my armpit. They gave me cream, then a vaseline type medicine and a paint on orange stuff. That worked the best. My boo boos were quite uncomfortable and couldn't wear a bra. The first 3 times I actually made myself so nauseaus and dizzy. It was the fear of the unexpected. After those first 3 days I was in and out like nothing...There's nothing to it-just lying there. I made sure to just rest for 1 hr. a day. I did this after working 6 hrs. a day and before doing dinner. I just couldn't do dinner and laundry, etc. without this little rest. Try to eliminate what CAN be eliminated. You sound as though there is a lot going on in your life besides this. I am so sorry. I will pray for you, and e-mail me anytime.

Sounds to me like they are looking at your best interest before jumping into the next phase of treatments. I think we all should be as blessed to have that kind of care and people taking everything into consideration. I think you have good doctors who are working for you my dear.
I am sorry things aren't going your way these days but hold ON. I have found through this cancer thing that just when you want the world to stop it takes another twist or turn. I hope you learn the art of breathing and how calming breathing can be if done with every intention. It helps to rid the toxins physical and mental from our bodies if we breath properly and you know it calms me allot to just sit and hear myself breathe.
Take good care of yourself and I will be thinking of you Vicki,

Bless your heart dear sister, all I can say is, I am glad you have people that obviously won't settle for a poor job! Annoying and tiring as it is, it sounds like a crackerjack team of dedicated people are working on you! Hang in there, I am 67 and had my rads at 63 and worked the whole time. I didn't even burn, it may not be so bad for you either. Anyway, remember you are in all our prayers and our arms are around you sister dear, Shirlann
