mother newly diagnosed neck mass....help

need advice on what to expect... we didn't see it coming....there were hardly any signs of cancer til the lump on her neck....what next????? desperately seeking info...

    They thought I had tonsilitis. I didn't have a clue until I felt a lump behind my right ear. I thought I had the mumps. I was told that cancer shows no pain. Good Luck
