Be sure to read,"Participation in clinical trials associated with good outcome" on the ACS Home page. This article tells us that low blood counts are also associated with a good outcome. All that worry about infection and delay of treatment, and now they are saying it was good for us. Hope they are right because I think we all experienced low blood counts during treatment. Nancy

Nancy is right. They are trying to achieve low blood counts because that means all cells are being killed. Remember they kill good cells along with the bad. A small percentage of us hit extemely low and have had infections. I still finished my chemo and onto radiation. The whole objective of most treatments is to bombard the body and try not to distroy it in the process. Low counts are inevitable.
