My name is Violet, I'm 47, and I was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in August 2000. I've had radiation and am currently undergoing chemo. Surgery was not an option. It is very encouraging to read your notes. Doctors seem to live only by statistics and I'm determined to beat this. I have changed my diet and exercise daily. Has anyone used the product "Barley Green?" I've heard it can be beneficial. I'd love to hear from anyone with advice as to what is working for them to help themselves get better.

I am a 49 year old woman with stage i4 lung cancer and I have just finished my chemo in March. So far I am okay but they can't tell me what is going to happen now. I was originally diagnosed in 1995 and had my right upper lobe removed. The doctor's have not been able to figure out what is going on with my cancer since it returned in 1998. They say when it comes back they will give me an experimental chemo.

It's nice to meet you Hunter. I wonder if the experimental drug your doctor is referring to is Iressa. I haven't heard much about it other than the trials going on now have been very favorable. Have you altered your diet in any way to stay as healthy as possible? I heard that tumors feed on sugar so I'm really limiting my sugar intake. I'm also eating primarily vegetables with a little chicken weekly. I've switched from regular milk to soy milk and take lots of vitamins. I have a CAT scan on Dec 15th and we'll see then how the radiation and chemo is working for me.

I haven' altered my diet at all. I eat whatever I want. I have put on so much weight from some of the drugs they have put me on. My husband thinks this is good because I'll have that
much more to lose when my cancer comes back. I have a lump under my right arm again. They are just waiting a couple of weeks to see if it will grow. Right now they say it is to small
to start sticking needles around for a needle biopsy. They are talking about giving me another CT scan too. I should probably know next week. I hope you will let me know about your CT scan
and keep in touch. Where exactly do you live, if you don't mind me asking. I live in Canada so maybe they are having different chemo experiments where you are. You haven't set up your web page yet.
you should. Well talk to you soon. Hope everything goes OK.
