good news

I went for my first scan post liver resection, and the surgeon at Moffitt was very pleased. My liver has grown back to its original size (they removed 55% about 3 months ago) and all looks great. My CEA is 1.1 and he was very excited saying he considers me "cured", knowing that it can always show again. I have 2 more chemo treatments set, and then I am done!!! Almost a exactly 1 year from when this roller coaster started. I will have to have scans every 3 months for a long time, but I feel that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The surgeon truely believes that the theraspheres is what enabled me to have the surgery and is what got me here. I hope one day that we will not have to deal with this nasty cancer and there will be a cure.

Moffitt
Christy,
Congratulations on your successful surgery. I am also a patient at Moffitt and travel there from Ft. Lauderdale for all of my scans. Dr. Yeatman did my liver resection. I am having a liver biopsy there on Monday. Just curious about how you coordinate your care. Do you live in Tampa? I'm confused about how to get my local oncologist talking to Dr. Yeatman and if I need to get an oncologist at Moffitt.
