Thanks everyone
Hi ladies! Thank you for all the great ideas. It's been a tough month and I'm sorry I haven't logged on more. Life marches on... and so do all the little things that are a part of it. I'm eager to get busy and will enjoy putting all your inspirations to work on my iPod.
Thanks again and Think Pink!0 -
THE CLIMB BY MILEY CYRUS
Hi
I LOVE COUNTRY MUSIC BUT THERE IS A SONG THAT I KEEP IN MY HEAD ALL THE TIME.
IT'S THE CLIMB BY MILEY CYRUS.
IT'S THE CLIMB THAT WE MUST KEEP GOING, A UPHILL BATTLE, SOMETIMES WE MAY LOSE, BUT
WILL KEEP THE FAITH THAT WILL TAKE US TO THE TOP FOR WE KNOW WHAT IS ON THE OTHER SIDE.
OUR VICTORY FOR THE CURE OF BREAST CANCER.
THIS CANCER WON THE 1ST BATTLE AND I WON THE 2ND BUT THE WAR IS NOT OVER FOR I WILL
NOT GIVE UP.
I HAVE TRIPLE NEGATIVE BC AND ANOTHER BC THAT IS VERY RARE THAT CHEMO AND RADIATION HAS
NO EFFECT WHICH IS MATRIX PRODUCING CARCINOMA.
AS OF FEB 1ST I'M CANCER FREE.
ARKANSASGIRL
SORRY MY CAPS ARE ON - BUT BEING CANCER FREE RIGHT NOW - I AM SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS AND ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN.0 -

I cry when I hear this one. It represents what I (a lot of us) have gone through.
I am so glad that you are cancer free. Good choice.

Hey Ya by Outkast, Baldheaded Blues by Saphire the Uppity Blues Women (not a slow bluesy one, actually - it's great), Jump n Move by the Brand New Heavies, and I'm a big fan of anything with a ukelele b/c it just makes you feel good, so I'm Yours by Jason Mraz, and Hey Soul Sistah by Train, oh and Do it Again by the Beach Boys - but get the one from the Happy Feet soundtrack because it's redone in a slight techno way - very cool song.0 -

I like what you have on your list. I have always loved Pink, Shania, and Nickleback. Miley Cirus' The Climb is a good one. Most classic rock by AC/DC, Lynard Skynard, Aerosmith, Queen, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, etc. I also like Elton John's I'm Still Standing.
I wish you all the best on your run.

I still like Stand by Rascall Flatts, and Everybodys broken by Bon Jovi, it makes me feel better while going through treatment. Stand makes me fight.0 -
How about...pgrace35 said:Music inspiration
Mine is a song by the Grateful Dead called Touch of Grey. In the lyrics is a saying that "We will survive". In fact I'm planning on getting a tattoo with a ribbon with those exact words in it!
We are Family by Sister Sledge!
(CHORUS:)
We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up ev'rybody and sing
Ev'ryone can see we're together
As we walk on by
(FLY!) and we fly just like birds of a feather
I won't tell no lie
(ALL!) all of the people around us they say
Can they be that close
Just let me state for the record
We're giving love in a family dose
(CHORUS x2)
Living life is fun and we've just begun
To get our share of the world's delights
(HIGH!) high hopes we have for the future
And our goal's in sight
(WE!) no we don't get depressed
Here's what we call our golden rule
Have faith in you and the things you do
You won't go wrong
This is our family Jewel0 -

"See How I run" by Jessie Baylin
The lyrics in "See How I Run" are inspirational. The tempo and beat are perfect for walking and running, ie. Race for the Cure!
" I'm not standing still on this mountain... I'm chasing down whats been haunting me... I'm staring up and into the great heights... I won't look down, it's not where I want to be... See how I run... You see how I'm running now."0 -

Ayse,
The google video from Playing for Change is so awesome! No wonder you've been listening to it over and over!
For anyone who hasn't seen it: It's a video of regular people around the world (many of them appear to be street musicians and singers, performing on their usual corners) singing "Stand by Me" "with" each other. If you need a burst of energy or just 5 feel-good minutes to help you get going, I highly recommend watching this!

I too am compiling a list of motivational songs and videos to get me through treatment and onward. Thanks so much for the great information. I will check out that Google video... it sounds like a winner.

The Rocky theme was one of my favoite motivational and inspirational songs during my Weight Watcher days and throughout graduate school (especially working on my thesis). Here are some of my other favorites:
I Run
We are the Champions
Ain't No mountain high enough
I am woman
Dancing Queen
Momma Mia
Super trouper
Build Me up Buttercup
Best is yet to come
People Got to be Free
25 Miles
The best is yet to come
Coming around/Itsy Bitsy
Walking Away a Winner
In the Navy
YMCA
Friends in Low Places
Can't stop the music
Have you seen the Rain
Up on the Roof

I listen to Christian music. God has been my strength through this and through anything difficult that I go through in life. There is a song called "Everything Falls" by Fee. That is my theme song right now.
