I am going to catch flack from you know who with this post. If you all remember, I was NED when I came on the board. I came because of a side effect problem. That being if I ate cereal for breakfast my right leg would twist out 22 degrees and cause me to limp with pain. If I had bacon/eggs there was no problem.

Well now it looks like I found out why. It appears that chemo/rad has made me gluten sensitive. The cereal is loaded with gluten. Bacon/eggs = 0 gluten.

Gluten sensitivity causes my hip joints to swell pinching a hip nerve causing the leg to twist with pain. As most of my nerves down that way are screwed up from the chemo/rad, the old brain feels it as hurting tendons as they cross the hip joints. It is however just the swelling of the joints.

Now I have to change my diet to try to be as gluten free as possible. Yes, I know it is in my damn gravy.

Chemo/rad The gift that keeps on giving.

    Hummm!
Ok, so let's see here. If you eat cereal your leg twists out 22 degrees? Strange, but I believe you.

A few days ago I posted that when I sit on my butt electric shocks course up & down my left arm and I was told that I am getting 'old'.

Flack!!!Not who you thought it would be either.

Might wanna' stay away from the gravy, as if you don't already know that:)
But is tastes SOOOOOOOOOO good, especially on top of a biscuit.

I did NOT pray for you to
I did NOT pray for you to become allergic to gravy! I swear! :-D

Our 39 year old son has Celiac Syndrome so is supposed to avoid glutens. I know it's going to be hard, but you can do it.

Does Bambi have glutens? (Fingers crossed)

You can have your gravy and eat it too
    Hi Kerry
The good news is there is gluten free flours. Our local grocery stores sell them. They even have gluten free pancake mix. One thing I learned is that wood spoons, cooking utensils, bowls and so on release gluten into food, wood has gluten too.

    Gravy
I have a cousin who is gluten sensitive. She makes gravy with patato flour or corn starch. If it saves you pain then it will be worth it. Paula

    At least you know
More than half of any battle is knowing what causing something to go haywire in our bodies.

And your timing to find out about the gluten problem couldn't be better since they now have so many alternatives and 'gluton free' products to replace the flour, etc. So you may not have to give up the gray just yet!

Best of luck with the new gluten free diet, and a good receipe for that new and improved gravy.
