Rads are done
The last time I said those words 2 very dear friends and pink sisters were saying the same words. Both of them have since fallen in battal, and Ihave bleeding hearts planted in my garden in their honor. Rads are done 10 very intense treatments to my pelvis, and now shots every month in each of my butt cheeks and wait for the next scan to see if there is any change. I think it would be funny if the scan glowed back at them remission is achived leave her alone now.
Wendy and I are working hard at going about our everyday lives tending to the chickens and the goats, working in our veggie garden. We try to lump all my appts into one or two days so that the rest of the week the cancer can be ignored. We dont talk about, we try not to think about it. We both came to the conclusion together that the more we talk about it or spend our time worrying about it the more power it has in our lives, and the fact that it is the 3 wheel in our relationship already dont mean we have to consider what it want to do. As my dear sister/friend irishwhispers use to say i will not be broken. And by GOD I wont.
That being said I have strawberrys to plant and a cherry tomato to plant in a bigger container. So have a nice day and remember. that third wheels feelings dont have to be considered as we go about our everyday lives. Love strong, laugh hard, and go about your daily routine as best you can. It WILL make you feel as normal as you are going to feel.

chickens and goats i am jealous
Hi Traci,
I am glad to see your post. Gongratulations with finishing radiation, big step, suppose to help with pain.
Garden with cherry tomatos sounds wonderful! While I have a green toubm, my garden is not responding to my inspirations, well three more months to go.
I hope the worse is over for Wendy and you and you both are moving forward It is not an easy task, not to think about that b*** . I wish you minimal side effects from injections, I have been reminded all the time that bones are very slow to heal and as long as nothing new is found the future is good and life should be exciting and enjoyable.
Living a life of a normal person, feeling normal, while having a little secret deep inside, always wondering why regular people get upset over small stuff
Our dear friends, pink angels are watching over keeping us safe
hugs

Hooray!
Remembef once the rads are done, it continues to work for another 2 - 3 weeks, or that is what I was told. It was amazing the difference in the pain level. She only did 12 at first so that if I needed more down the road, it wwould leave me the option. After I think about 6-8 monthss, the pain was returning, she was able to do 10 more, that was over 2 years ago, and it is still working.
I was so happy that she did it that way. She did the same on my right leg from the calf to the hip, so I know that if it returns, I have the option of 12 more, But the 10 on that was enough!
If I was young and healthy and could do a 'do over', I know that my passion is in medical research. How our systems work has become so facinating, partly in response to the passion for research that my new onco gets. His whole face just beams when he talks about something new that he is working on!
My hope is still to hang out long enough and remain healthy enough to be one of the first in line when one of the immunotherapies is approbed. My bones will still be toast, but with the cancer completely in check(remission), it would only leave my doctors and I the job of pain management!
Hope never dies as long as I am still breathing!
I hope you and Wendy the best and nothing better than organic produce from your own garden.

Full of Wisdom...
... and inspiration, your post. Of course, am not surprised. Just glad you shared for everyone here.
I, too, often repeat on your behalf a variation of Trish's mantra: she (you) will not be broken. It replays over & over within my mind, heart & soul.
Love you, lots, dearest TJ. WWW, too. Am hoping - with all I've got - for you, both, each & every day.

I so appreciate you last statement -- it sums up 'how you wish to live' each day. Wonderful attitude .. I so admire you.
Continued strength, and blessings for you, and Wendy.
Congradulations on completing your 'rad's' program. Shots in your butt, well OUCH!!! oh the jokes swirling around in my mind.
Strength, Courage and HOPE for a Cure.
