Waiting and waiting.........

Hey all

Had chest CT at beginning of week as a run up to op and I have been calling specialist nurse every day and results are not back. Also I have no date yet for op and no follow up appointment with urologist booked. I am stressing about all this, did you all have to wait and wait for any news?  Perhaps I am being inpatient but the anxiety is making me not concentrate I have already dropped a very hot cup of coffee in my lap today grrr. I hate waiting, I know it has only been a month since possible diagnosis but it has been the longest month ever!! Hope you are all well

Karen

GETTING TO THE HEAD OF THE LINE

    Katen,

One way to get to the head of the line is to have a bad diagnosis. Believe me you do not want that. I waited 2 months. Fun, no. But it beats skipping ahead of those with small tumors. Consider yourself lucky that your diagnosis does not require earlier surgery.

    Slow Process!

    Hi Karen,

There are quite a few people on this site who have to wait a week or more for results, it s not unusual. I am fortunate enough to receive them within half an hour of the tests, so of course it cuts out the wait but not necessarily the stress. What type of surgery are you having? I hope you hear something soon but in the meantime breath. The main thing is that if it is proved to be cancer thank goodness it has been caught and can be dealt with quickly.

    Take care:)

    No news

Sometimes no news is good news!  My results came back in 2 hours and I was scheduled for a month later (Would have been 2 weeks later but I had a vacation planned).

As hard as it is to do, relax.  Hopefully you're in a state that is not: on fire, snowing, or raining every day, and you can get outside.

hope you hear soon and the news is good!

Oh an sorry about the coffee 8-(

    Oh how wonderful!

Good news all around! If you call surgery "good news". But, now at least you know and you can plan the next move.  Hope you're scheduled soon so you really can start healing.

Had a patial 10 weeks ago an I just got back from a bike ride and run, so you will be up and moving in time to enjoy the rest of the summer (which has yet to appear here - how about there?)

    Good News!

    Hi Karen,

So pleased to hear your chest scan was clear, and that your tumour was caught when so small. Where in the UK are you? I am from the UK but live in Brittany now.

First of all, I am sorry for

First of all, I am sorry for all you are going through. But its good you  found this site!

For me, I always get the report w/in a few days of test. That way I can be prepared and ask questions. Both my primary doc and the Urologist called me to tell me what was found. Since two radiologists made mistakes in writing the reports, I needed things to be amended.

Not sure where you live, but can you call medical records there and ask if the written report is ready? I pick mine up, but I live close to the hospital where tests are done.

Let us know how you are doing, hon.

    Warmly, Jan

    Sounds like

you are going to do well. Take this time to have all your ducks in a row so you can relax after surgery. You'll cherish the time to recover.
