Hoping this sneaky uterine serous/clear cell is not back, after almost 7 years
I had surgery, chemo, and radiation (IMRT to pelvic lymph node area) in 2018-2019. My Ca125 had been 36 at diagnosis, went down as low as 10 eventually after treatment, mostly ran in the low teens. Was 10 last time I checked it, which was about 20 months ago.
Meanwhile, I realized that I've been losing weight over the summer, without trying. I do have an indolent (slow) B cell lymphoma, and a large spleen, but that has not brought up my Ca125 when I've checked it.
So, because of the weight loss, I went in to have my cuff looked at. All looked fine, but my Ca125 is up to 19. That's the highest it's ever been, since I recovered from surgery, unless I was having inflammation from a complication of the lymphoma, which I'm not currently having at all.
So now begins the search. I'm thinking MRI of pelvis, abdomen, and chest, with and without contrast, vs a PET/CT. I hope it's not back somewhere, but that serous/clear cell stuff is very sneaky, I know.

ZsaZsa, I am sorry to read this and feel great empathy for your uncertainty just now. I hope this is a false alarm. Please keep us posted. I am curious, if you care to share, what your analysis calculus for deciding between MRI and PET/CT. Is it something particular to your UC, or the lymphoma? Best wishes,

ZsaZsa, I hope everything is okay. If I recall correctly, you're a physician, so you already know all the things it likely is other than a recurrence. I just had a conversation with my gyn/onc this morning about the love/hate relationship with CA-125. The test itself is, as you know, prone to small fluctuations, but since my regular CA-125 number is much like yours, I notice and worry about any even small increase. I've been in treatment for UPSC for 6 years this month. I was stage 1 but it recurred after 18 months or so, and I had two more full cycles of carbo/taxol. Never again. I started enhertu in February, and it's been very powerful for me, as I am strongly HER2+.
Fingers crossed that it's not back.
