I'm having a biopsy done

If none of you have read my previous posts, my mammogram showed some calcification spots at my annual mammogram and last year had my breast implants removed so this is first mammogram after removal.  The surgeon thought it was due to injury to breast tissue along with radiologist and thought it could wait for a 6 month recheck on mammogram.  However, talking to several people at his office since the scan they keep telling me different margins of possibiity of cancer and now I'm not sure who to believe.  Their main concern after trying to get a biopsy with the needle was that it was "too dangerous" because it was close to the chest bone.  But after talking to the nurse today they told me they are going to insert a "marker" to get the area in question biopsied then why couldn't they do the other biopsy.  I'm thinking they are still sticking a needle in there.  I'm so confused and needing an explanation but didn't think of it when talking to the nurse today.

The biopsy is next Tuesday, May 30 and won't find out result until June 7 - that seems awfully long, especially for someome that is anxious about getting answers.

Well if anyone prays, I'd appreciate some prayers for a normal biopsy.

I'm always praying for all of you on the message boards.

Hugs! Kim

I will pray for you. It took 2 weeks for me to get results back from pathology for the lumpectomy. They wait a certain period unless they see cancer cells sooner. Getting quick results back usually means they saw cancer quIcker. I am glad that you are going forward. Knowledge is power when it comes to cancer and getting treatment sooner is always better, if it is cancer.  If it is not cancer, It will free your mind of anxiety.

    Thank you all

Thank you all for your replys.  It means a lot to mean that you even read my post being  a newbie on the board and not even having a diagnosis yet.  You are very kind and generous of your responses.  I've had a hard time dealing with the wait (6 months) and just get it over with (biopsy).  I'll keep you all informed with the follow up.  I'm going for a surgical biopsy since the other needle won't work so this will be a little more involved.  I'm very nervous and appreciate all your prayers.

    Hugs!  Kim

Prayers going up for you Kim!

We will be keeping you in our pink lady prayers.  You know with the surgical way, it may be easier in that they will see exactly where they are sticking it.  Mine was that punch.  My cancer was middle right and it felt like he was hitting my breast bone.  It hurt.  I had tears rolling down my cheeks, he kept apologizing and ask if I wanted to quit and I pinched my palms with my nails, put on a stiff upper lip and said, No, just hurry up and get it done.  He took 7 samples.  When I got off that table, I wanted to punch him in the throat.  But I didn't.  I regained my composure and said, thank you doc.  Cried all the way home.

It took them 2 wks to get the results back.   It was a long wait.
