Hi all!

After 7 days in the hospital my mom is finally home! She still has severe pain when urinating but is not screaming anymore (thank god) now is the waiting game 6 weeks of torture! She is still weak but says she sees small improvements day by day! My question was what is the most common way, or norm round of tests to make sure this sucker is gone!!!????

    I'm so glad to hear your mom is out of the hospital and home now, where she can really begin to heal.  The pain with urination should decrease with time.  Just make sure she continues to drink plenty of water to flush the chemo out of her body and help dillute her urine.  As for what type of followp-up schedule she will have, you'd need to discuss that with her doctor.  There are guidelines put out by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network which you can view on their website.  However, doctors seem to be all over the place when it comes to follow-up and do their own schedule. 

    I send healing thoughts and prayers to your mom and I hope the rough part is behind her now.
