Encouragement to Stage IIIB'rs
Just thought I would share that my recent CAT Scan and anal exam came out clear..... It's been 1 year and four months since I was declared NED after those brutal treatments. (In addition to the anal area, the cancer had spread to the vagina, rectum, sigmoid colon, along wtih the lymph nodes "lighting up" on the scan....) Just wanted to post this to share hope and encouragement to others with advanced cancer who might be enduring treatment and scared at this time..... You can get through this dark tunnel and have a good outcome and a happy life post cancer! Keep fighting!

I am so glad to hear your good news! Wishing you many more good reports! Thanks to both of you. You both have endured much. Eihtak I wish you the best on your upcoming scan and Marynb, I pray for your healing. I don't post on here too often, but I took Laz's comment to heart that survivors should post good news in order to provide encouragement and hope to others in their struggles. Yes, I have MUCH to be thankful for and thank God for everday that I have. One of the benefits of being a cancer survivor - a more grateful heart!!!! Blessings to you both.

Good news
Thanks for sharing your good news. I get to say "Me too!" after a PET scan, 3 doctor appts., and a biopsy in the last 6 weeks. My pesky scar tissue lit up a little more on the scan this time so the doctors all wanted to biopsy. I met with my surgeon yesterday and got the good news again that I am still NED. It's been just over a year since I finished treatment. I was told they couldn't definitively stage the cancer as I also had cancer cells on my vulva and they weren't sure if it was a second primary tumor or part of the original tumor and in addition my inguinal nodes were enlarged, possibly from the Bartholin's gland infection I had at the same time as the cancer was diagnosed. So I think I was probably also at stage 3b and now I just concentrate on the good news I got yesterday.

Awesome News!
I was Stage IV. Mine had spread to all of the exact same places yours did. The treatment is brutal but definitely works on all stages. I will be going for 9 month scan in January. Mine too have been clear and I'm so amazed every time. We are good examples that you can fight this nasty cancer. I also live a very normal life with minimal side effects. Not perfect but a very good quality of life. My best to you....

That is great!! I think it
That is great!! I think it is important to post NED's to give all us hope. I am especially interested in hearing from advance stage survivors. I finished treatment two years ago for stage 4, it had spread to my lymph nodes and liver. My next CT scan is 12/10 and I am praying to be able to post NED again. God be with you.
