It's been one year
I can now say, I'm 1 year out and with the blessings of God, doing real good.
November 2,2011, at the James in Columbus Ohio,my awesome team of surgeons used the di vinci robot to remove my epiglottis, I was so lucky to not need and chemo or radiation.
Today, I ate my first piece of fried chicken in a year and am pretty much enjoying real food , my speech therapist was and is a miracle worker.
Thank you all for being with me all year, keeping the faith and know that God is good

Oh yes!! Fried chicken
I haven't had that yet, but it's on my list when I get just a little more saliva. I'm SO glad you're getting back to real food...it's a real adventure, isn't it?
LOL Matt...you are funny!! However a candle on your chicken thigh sounds like a good idea to me...CELEBRATE!!
You're a true positive force on this board....I'm glad you were with me all thru treatment.

Time to celebrate for sure! I haven't had fried chicken yet, sounds so good but I'm with Phrannie, I need saliva to muscle that down.
Anyhow, keep up the good healing and enjoy this milestone.

Congrats
Congratulations on your one year and on your fried chicken accomplishment!
It's people like you that let us newbies know that things do get better. I'm in my last week of treatment, and I don't know how soon chicken will taste good. Right now all meat tastes like cardboard, but I know that will change someday.
Keep on keepin' on!
Blessings to you,
