Praise God- Cancer's in remission after bone marrow test

in Lymphoma (Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin) #1
It's been 7 months now with no chemo and I'm doing well thank God. Blood count is up and am walking without walker and getting stronger each day. I have nothing but praise for my oncologist and his RN wife who took me step by step with 6 rounds of chemo and two months of aftercare chemo. I'm going to be 71 next month and looking forward to seeing my 2 year old grandaughter grow up-finish college and start a family of her own. I thank God for giving me more years to enjoy my family and friends and his creations here on earth. For those of you that are just starting your recovery journey- have hope and heart because God's in control and the cancer you may have can be healed as has mine. Hugsssss- Steve

    Joanie - God is good all the time- and all the time He is good. About a year and a half ago I thought my life was finished but praise God He has given me new life and hope. It's been a tough journey but I can say with confidence that God answers prayers and stays beside and with us through it all. His will be done is my life's motto and I pray that I can bring encouragement and hope to those that are experiencing what we all have gone through. GBU and hugs - Steve

    I am trying to remember to praise God even when the test results are not as good as we'd like, one things fall apart....
    That of course I hardest for me!

    God is good, and that is my comfort through it all! Yes, I can testify to thinking that life might soon be over. I was first diagnosed with lung cancer, with little hope of cure on this earth. Then later my diagnosis was changed to lymphoma. But now it is proving refractory, and only God knows what is ahead. Yes, I too want God's will done in my life...It's a challenge to maintain that surrender in the ups and downs of cancer. Thank you for your testimony of hope and grace and courage. And I'm glad to hear your good news!! May God bless you.

    Jeen thank you for your post. Praising God through the tough times and the good times is His desire for us. I can remember laying in bed in the hospital wondering if this week would be my last - suffering with terrible c-dif brought on by the wrong anti-biotics-losing weight- hair from chemo - and suddenly a RN or CNA would appear and ask to hold my hand and pray with me. Wow prayer changes everything-soon I was smiling and the depression faded - 15 months of in and out of the hospital - my immune system about down to 0 and my blood count so low that blood transfusions were the only thing keeping me alive. But through it all I kept praying and asking God for 20 more years to see my grandaughter grow up to have a family of her own-that was my prayer and desire. And look at me now - 7 months without needing chemo-my blood count almost normal-walking daily- gaining my weight back- hair too- waking up every morning with a smile on my face thanking God for a second chance in life. I do praise Him today and forever. Hugsssssssssss Steve

    and what a beautiful grandaughter you have. I have one 18 mo's old and she brings me so much happiness and joy! Her name is Lizzy. My son and his wife had tried for 11 years to have a baby with no luck. The day I went in to the hospital to have my tumor removed for biopsy we got a call as they were taking me in to surgery telling us my daughter-in-law was pregnant. I felt so blessed and at that moment all of my fears turned to hope and gratitude and a powerful determination to beat this cancer. I babysit her 3 days a week, 10 hours a day and couldn't be happier! Enjoy your precious sweetie! Love...Sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10)

    Isn't it amazing how
    Isn't it amazing how sometimes God sends someone or something to tell us what we need to hear? When I was diagnosed with eye cancer, I found several books written by Lynn Eibb who is a cancer survivor too, and they really helped me to remember Gods grace even in the tough times.
    I am so thrilled to learn you are doing well!
