Husband's Auto Transplant
He is still feeling weak from the stem cell collection last week. I hope it is normal that his blood counts have not recovered yet. I know his body has been through a lot. He had a PET scan yesterday and we anxiously (and neverously) await those results.
Any thoughts on what I should expect from those of you that have been through this?
Thanks! Katie

Stem Cell Transplant
Hi, Katie, I had stage 4 Hodgkin's and went through chemo for 10 months leading up the the high dose Beam Chemo. Try not to be too nervous as this procedure has had great success in many cases. I was pretty weak by the time i got to the Beam and transplant, but the doctors and staff kept a very close eye on things throughout the process. It has been almost a year since the transplant and I feel pretty good. I am still building strength and endurance, but in light of the stage of my cancer and how weak i was , it is truly a blessing for me to be in good shape today.
my last scan showed that the cancer is gone! Praise God!!!0 -
Thanks for all the good thoughts!jimwins said:Positive Thoughts
Hi Katie,
I also haven't been through this but wanted to send
hugs and positive thoughts your way that everything
goes better than perfectly!
Jim
Thank you everyone for all the good wishes.
Bulldog - congrats on your good scan!
I am confident everything will go good. He is at Mayo. I am just worried right now because he is week after stem cell collection. He never really got a chance to recover from his third R-ICE treatment before they started collection. Blood test today to see where his numbers are at.
Hugs to all of you0 -

My husband had an Auto Stem Cell Transplant after ICE Chemo. He has been in remission from Stage 4 Lymphoma for almost one year now.
I am glad your husband is doing well.
Unfortunately my husband did not go to transplant. The day before he was scheduled his PET scan results came back not good. We are delayed once again. Not sure what is next. Doing whatever we can to investigate all avenues of additional therapy.

I'm so sorry to hear the news.. I wish there was a hug icon I could send to you!
I have been hoping you would get good news.. I'm going into salvage chemo soon, and just wanted to thank you so much for sharing your story.

Someone needs to invent a hug icon.
Nathan, I wish you all the best with your salvage chemo!
My husband had a really good PET after 2 rounds of R-ICE so we were very optimistic but the PET after the 3rd round showed significant uptake mainly in his spleen. Unfortunately my husband's situation is complicated by the fact that he had CLL which transformed into the lymphoma. Need this lymphoma to get under control and every day I focus all my energies on him to make that happen. The power of the mind right?
Good luck to you!

Hi Jim,
I bet you were trying to figure out how to put a "hug icon" on here for us...right?

Thanks . Smiles and laughs are always good.
I found these on the web so I didn't design them
though I'm sure I painstakingly could. I did have to put
a code in there to make it go to plain text around
the item - otherwise the characters don't line up.

Dear Jim, or should I call you Jimmy.
The name Jimmy makes me think of a child. That's you. Bad boy in class, instead of listening to the teacher, scribbling notes and passing them on. Bad Boy.
Stay well and childish please. Hugs from Maggie0 -

Call me anything but late for dinner, Maggie .
Actually I've been called "Jimmy", "Jimbo" and other not
so cute names in the past .
Actually, I was the nice kid in class most of the time.
Though I did beat up a bully once in elementary school because
he hit a girl on the school bus. I did it in his front yard
and when I explained to his mom what he did, she said "It's about
time". Sad but true... I think I was in 3rd or 4th grade?
Before you picture me with "gilded cherub wings", I did go through
a period when I delightfully tormented my sisters and was quite a devil.
I've always been a kid - don't think there's anything wrong with that.
All the kids in my family love me for that and the ones who are grown now
remember some of the things we did when they were little.
I still like to watch cartoons on occasion - should I be embarrassed?
Zoink!
(smiles)
