teeth dentists.....don't hesitate
I complain.....which I never do...go back today to his partner who puts everything right.....except i still have to go through all the pain of correction....
point....if it does not feel right....it prolly isn't. This dentist was also a cancer patient and I thought....ok I can support this guy but if you have to change do it!!
I should have changed earlier but it is so hard to hurt someone's feelings
anyone feel this guilt about leaving a doc?????

My hubby offered to throw one doctor through a plate glass window once when the doctor told him if he had a better job that he could probably afford the office visit. And then there was the time his heart doctor told him he needed to dress better than bermuda shorts despite the fact he had a cast on his leg. Didn't keep that doctor either.LOL

hahah you are more tough than I am. Ketz and Wolfen i will take you with me next time i have to make a decision like that. The old dentist kept implying that everytning was my fault.....when he put a temporary in ...it fell out three times and that was My fault?
There are lots of dentists in our town so it is relatively easy to change. Now once you have a primary care doctor .....it is very very hard to switch because there are so few docs.
this morning I am off to see my onc for my 6months with her. Relatively stress free because i know the latest scans were clear. Wish i could stop my blood pressure from zooming over the moon on these trips though....okay
luv to all

No one wants a dentist that doesn't do a good job. I'm glad that you got it fixed correctly. You were right in firing the dentist. Maybe he should excuse himself for a couple months until he can get his self together. Don't feel guilty, you did the right thing.

hi Kim...yes the dentist finally did admit that he needed time off.....he is taking lithium for depession and it makes his hands shake like crazy. He is focused on his wife divorcing him and he really was not focusing on his job.
sorry to hear that you had your tests suggested for every three years.....
I saw my onc yesterday and she wants to move me out to every 6 months.....I do not know how comfortable I feel with this.....

Well, hello, Maggie May:)
It's always a little scary to get moved farther out - but I tell you what it represents to me. It means that you are progressing successfully to the point where they can extend out your scans.
The jump from 3-6 months won't be as traumatic as when they will move you to "ONE A YEAR."
There's where some anxiety will set in for you - but if you stay clear, then you're over that hurdle and will have made it up the hill and now will be staring down it....it should be a much smoother ride than it was going up the hill.
Something to keep in mind...
You have made it 8-years...and I'm about to make it 8-years myself in June...the last 3 years since I joined and met you...you have been clear, which is a great story because I'm always staring in the direction of people who were dx'd in my time frame, as we all do.
Now, my story is different from yours...you've been clear 3-years and looking better all the time....but I've only ever gotten to the point of 6-months scans twice in my whole fight and that was in the first and second years...
Since then, I get clean but don't stay clean...but the point I'm making is look for the "6-months" as an achievement badge - a reminder that your path is good and looks good.
Perhaps, one day, I can achieve what you are doing - I'll have a better chance if cancer #4 doesn't show up at the end of this May. I sort of already know, but will wait and play it out and see.
If I didn't get the chance, thanks for the Xmas card - your message was right, we've lost so many and we do miss them.

thank you so much for your thoughtful reply. Yes it is three years for me on June 9 since I took my last oxy. No one is more surprised than I.....two years for me was my absolute limit without cancer coming back. Yes I do not relish round four either but I do expect it.
It was funny to watch Jim yesterday Craig....he just fell right back into the whole routine and I think he actually felt comforted to be in the hospital again....greeting the nurses, hugging the pastor....actually I guess it is a message for people just starting on their path....all the strangeness that is cancer care will one day be absorbed into your daily routine.....hard to believe I know it and then when it is over....it's almost lonely
hoping and wishing for the very best for you Craig....
