Is there anyway to block someone's posts on this site?

Not that I know of.
But I admit, you got me curious so I went looking and I think I see the post that got you so worked up. I understand the reason...all I can say is, when I see someone posting who seems to "know it all" in a non-helpful way, I just skip reading their post. At times I also take a break from the site rather than get upset reading disturbing posts.
Remember, some people just like to "hear"themselves write.

I don't believe there's a way to filter the posts you yourself see, but I think JoAnn has the right idea -- I'll admit that, during the time I've been here, there have been a few individuals whose posts I simply stopped reading. When I see their name, I just skip over it.
That way, I feel like *I* (not the computer, not the other person, not ACS) am in control of what I read, and it helps me feel less upset or angry by what's sometimes posted here.
Just my own thoughts, for myself,

I agree
There have been a few times when I have to stop reading for a while because of the responses of some. I think that sometimes , we think that our opinions and thoughts are all that matters. There are alot of us out here just trying to ask for help and don't always get a kind response.0 -

OMG - at first I thought maybe cinnamon was upset at my agreeing with her. (?) But on second thought, I'd also like to 'mute' someone...it's kinda hard to ignore having to scroll down a few pages. =\0 -

I never hear from you anymore, Traci?? I knew it!!!
Hey, just fooling around. There's just some people, Cinnamon, that I've decided aren't "good for me" people. It's taken me a looong time to learn some skills to avoid those people and if I can't do that, just let it go. Honestly, they're not worth my angst.
I wish you peace.

I almost wrote in my last post "(like that anNOYing aisling8, just can't take her and her Big Fat Head anymore)", but was afraid someone would take me seriously!
So, just to make you happy ('cause I'm a giver) -- yes, Victoria, it's All About You!

I just can't keep my mouth shut....:). I just read "the posts', Cinnamon is referring to.. And responded....yikes! And I noticed there wasn't an MD after
S's screen name....people never cease to amaze me with their lack of tact and intellect, not to mention common sense! I think some people are just born miserable and misery loves company! Best to just ignore those types...now If I could just follow my own advice...or else Traci Is gonna give me a " good talking-to".....haha
Wishing everyone a good weekend...

you were fooling around -- the big fat head is NOT empty!
Cinammon, excuse me for injecting humor into your post. I totally get what's bugging you, I've so been there, but I also know it's next to impossible to control people and the things they do or don't do. I truly hope you find peace. When I'm all hot and bothered I write exactly what I think, what I'd like to do to the other person, all my feelings, and then I shred the paper. Really helps me.

I also read the post and
I also read the post and was pretty bowled over by the post you are referring to. Not just one but three. It was awful and I don't blame you for wanting to filter out that person. Perhaps you can just not read posts by that person and understand that it is her problem not yours. You are doing the best you can given your situation and what you need most is support not attitude. Cinnamon keep smiling and ignore the nonsense.0 -
I am thinking right now
I am thinking right now about Amtrak (aka Kindred) the scarred up stray kitty. And I know you think I am having flight of ideas (lol), but I would say try and give everyone here the benefit of the doubt. Just ignore what you don't like, take a cooling off hike and move on. Many of us are, scarred and battered like Amtrak, worn souls and may just be having a lousy day. Does that make any sense?0 -
Hmmm
I have not read the post and am totally in the dark here but I agree if someone's comments are affecting you in an unfavorable way it is best to not subject yourself to their posts. One thing we have learned here is that life is worth living, fighting for and enjoy...removing negatives is sometimes a very freeing thing to do. My best to you!

I hope these comments don't drive anyone from this site. It's so easy to read things into written posts that aren't necessarily meant the way we take them. Sometimes things just don't come across right after we've hit "send".
Everyone needs to be here or they wouldn't come. If something is offensive to you, report it or ignore it or contact the poster privately. I wasn't offended. See? We all see things differently.
Let's try and find positive ways to communicate and support each other, doggone it!

The written word is very easy to mis-read the intent of what is said. We all have different views of life and our journey - often very different than others. Certainly we have had our share of trolls but I haven't seen anything recently that was so objectionable that someone should ban/block someone else. That's up to the powers that be - ACS.
If something is so objectionable then "you" should contact ACS or the person via PM to check out what they meant. "Life is too short to sweat the small stuff." (PM me if anyone doesn't like that and i'll explain it.)
If you don't like that someone has different ideas and ways of dealig with the journey - then don't bother reading their posts but they may help some else who thinks along the route they do. There is no "one way fits all".

The Higher Road
Wow... the blog and thread you are referring to was an amazing read. Holy Smoke! Do you think you can spare a xanax?
For all that it's worth... I say take the Higher Road. Life is too short to let this kind of stuff weigh you down.
We sure are a mixed bunch. It's an incredible "masala" of sorts. Don't let it get you down.
You are doing GREAT, keep going!

Thanks for all the support ladies. I didn't want or expect all this. Sorry. I have calmed down. Am not reading any more posts by this particular person since our views are complete opposites. It is a nice feeling to have you ladies help me out. Not just with this, but along the way. At first I didn't feel like I didn't fit in cuz I didn't need chemo or rads and had to justify myself for being here. But I had cancer. Had treatment for it. Have my own treatment side effects. And lately, I have been feeling closer to the pink sisters and consider myself worthy to be part of the family and ride the big old pink bus cross country!! Thank you so much all. Pink sisters rock!!0 -

If it is, I won't post again~just let me know~I only try to be helpful, but you never know~just tell me if it was me and I will never be heard from again, the last thing I would want to do is upset someone. Thanks, Sinee0 -
The relative anonymity of
The relative anonymity of the Internet gives many a freedom of speech that isn't always desired, or appropriate! I have ( I admit!) been guilty of sounding off when I shouldn't have, and I seriously offended someone. She did send me a private message, kindly but sternly telling me just how out of line I was on a particular subject. We offered each other an olive branch, we both accepted it, I apologized and we are truly good and caring online Kindred Spirits today! As a matter of fact, when I logged on tonight, she had written me a PM telling me what's been going on with her and her health and being supportive
and helpful about my ongoing problems.
On the other hand, I agree with Traci~ I avoid her and Aisling8 all all costs! KIDDING! They are both great sisters who I have had the honor of meeting in person! But yes...recognizing the name of posters and deciding not to read them is often the best bet. If someone is WAY out of line, hitting the "report as offensive" button will bring this to the attention of the site adminstator, and this person can indeed be removed from posting.
We are literally in a fight for our lives~ it does us no good to upset ourselves by reading those things designed to get our blood boiling.
Hugs and a calm heart!

If you truly had decided not to read Victoria's and my posts...well, then, you wouldn't be commenting on them right here, now would you? You're a terrible liar, dear heart!
And LOL, New Flower -- yes, we're comin' after you next, so watch out!
