Jimbo's Update

Hi! This is jimbos daughter Candace. My dad wanted me to update everyone on how he was doing after surgery. His surgery began around 7am and ended around 5pm. The doctor had wonderful things to say and said there were no surprises, a very routine surgery. We went back to see him in icu around 6 and he looked great!! His vitals were wonderful and they said he was doing well. He is sedated and is on a ventilator until tomorrow morning. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support. It means the world to my dad! I will post tomorrow with another update! :-)

    Great to hear that things went well
    It is super to hear that things went well with Jimbo's operation. It will be a long two or three days until he is out of ICU and able to at least walk around a bit. We will be praying that the swallow test and pathology report are what you want to hear and he is on his way home again soon.

    Good News!
    They took dad off the ventilator this morning at 9:20. He is doing very well. They sat him up in a chair and he stood up today and wants to go for a walk! He is very strong and determined. He will stay in icu again tonight, but tomorrow will have a room. His breathing tests have been amazing and the nurses say he is doing great! I am so glad to be able to report good news to all of you. He loves this discussion board and has received much hope from reading it. I hope that we can provide that same support to so many others. Thank you all for your prayers and support!

    Tell your dad we are thinking of him and thanking God for all He is doing in your dad's life.
    I know you are so happy to see him with such a determination.
    I know the surgeon and nurses skillfully did their work but God guided their hands.
    So glad your dad chose to go their.
    We will keep you all in prayer that everything will continue to go smoothly!

    So glad you got to see him! He is doing great. Weve been here in the waiting room forever. Going back to icu by twos every chance we get. :-)

    Thanks for the updates.

    Hope your dad's recovery is still progressing well and he is up and about. We think about him often. I measured my husbands recovery process by how many tubes were removed each day (he started with 9). Each one that was removed was a "wahoo" moment and got him that much closer to going home.
