    When I had
bilateral mastectomy I met with a plastic surgeon to discuss my options. He told me that I could have reconstruction several years later if I chose to go that route. I'm 61 and have limited shoulder movement. Because I'm overweight I'm not a candidate for the trans flap, etc. I'm also a high risk for infection and have had 12 surgeries in the past 4 1/2 years so I didn't want to go through the process of reconstruction. I ended up having 6 rounds of chemo and now having 28 rads. For now I've decided to stay with prosthetic bras and "girls".
