I reposted this because I was afraid it was going to get lost since it was so far down the thread.
Reba posted - They postponed Don's surgery until Friday. Biopsy on kidney came back and he has cancer there too. They said it is slow growing so will deal with it after the Esophagus surgery.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

If the cancer has spread I am surprised they are doing surgery

Reba,
Are you sure they are still going to do surgery. Perhaps you want to get a second opinion. Generally, once the cancer has spread to another organ the doctors don't want to subject the patient to the difficult surgery of removing the esophagus. Others may chime in but once my dad's cancer spread to his liver --- they said no to surgery. Is the kidney tumor, esophagus cancer that has spread, or kidney cancer? That may make a difference I don't know and trust me I am not a doctor.
I hope that things go well for you but I would really ask some serious questions.
Best,
Cindy
