My husband told me last night that NO MEDIA OR PUBLIC were allowed at her funeral, so that could be a reason why we had no media coverage.

NICE ARTICLE:

I Also Believe That Had A Lot To Do...
with why we haven't heard much. However, her situation was all over the airwaves in the weeks before she passed away. I watch "The View", and they were talking about it a lot, and re-released the special that had been done on her fight. But when she did pass, they kind of shut down the media assess to her story, plus MJ passed away, so there wasn't a lot of "new" information out there. Even at the funeral, media was kept far away, and only heard about what went on the next day. Maybe if the family had spotlighted that part of the story more, more people would have focused on Anal cancer. And also, they kept saying how very rare Anal cancer is, and I think that made it harder for people to relate, like "it's so rare, I'll never have to worry about it".

    That may be true
But they still could have talked about it a little more and about the cancer. She had too much class to turn it into a circus as what appears to be happening to MJ. At least he finally did make that comeback. Now, if he died of cancer think of the coverage he (and it) would have gotten. I do not wish anyone dies of cancer (well, I have a very short list...) but they'd be all over the subject.
