I just don't know how to go on...

...sometimes. I am a young mother of a five year old boy. His name is Aiden and he has Stage Four Nephroblastoma. He was diagnosed in January 2009. Every day we are clueless as to the future or what time will bring. No body understands what my husband and I go through every day. Let alone what our boy oes through. No matter how great things are going, I ache so much. I am his mother, I want to protect him. I want his pain gone.
He has one more Chemo left, and then we have surgery to remove his Hickman Line, and get all of his scans, tests and so on to see where the cancer stands.
No one knows what we've been through. People don't understand how much it hurts when it's your child...
All of your words, support, and prayers would be so greatly appreciated.
Truly,
Heather
PS) Aiden has a Website at
Caringbridge.org type in monkeyaiden, and there we are!
He likes when messages are left =]

Words are so inadequate...
My heart aches for you and your family, especially little Aiden. You are right that most of us do not understand. Unless we have stood in your shoes, we are just not capable of wrapping our heads around what your family is going through. But I am a mother also and on that level I can relate just a little.
Prayer and faith are the tools I rely on most in crisis times. Accepting help from others, trying to enjoy the good little things each day brings, trying not to focus too much on tomorrow. None of these things are easy to do but the alternative is just giving up and becoming a negative in the situation rather than a positive. Which just is not an option for a mother.
My prayers are with you and your family. It will be my privilege to visit Aiden's site and send him a message.

((((((HUGS)))))))
Heather, cancer is a cruel illness and I am so sorry it has come to your doorstep. Little Aiden will be in my prayers as well as the rest of your family. I will go to his site and leave a message for him, thank you for allowing me to do so.
My best to you and little Aiden

Praying for You - Sending Hugs
You sound like a wonderful Mom. Sometimes we have to walk terrible roads with our children. But you and your husband are there for him and with him every step of the way. Is there anyone else on this entire planet that would be as loving and supportive and as crazy about Aiden as the two of you? And you never know what the future holds. This experience he's having at five may inspire him to go into cancer research, or become a doctor or nurse. You will provide the right perspective so that he can take this awful time and turn it into something good and inspiring and productive.0
