Hi,
I'm new to this board. My father was diagnosised with EC on 12/12/08. He's scheduled for surgery on 3/30/09. He is 70 years old and his finished 4 rounds of chemo., FOLFAX and had a fanny pack for 48 hours. The chemo has done a great for him. The tumor has shrunk. He's been able to eat again and has gained some weight. I've read so much on this board and am so grateful for all the information out here. I'm following the advice on William66 to seak an apt. with the Dr. he used. We really want a 2nd opinion. I would really like to hear from William66 to ask more questions. Good luck to everyone on this board dealing with this HORRIBLE HORRIBLE cancer.

Praying for my dadunknown said:This comment has been removed by the Moderator
Hi,
Well the surgery didn't work out for my dad. When Dr. Luketich did the exporatory part of the surgery he found cancer cells on the lining of the stomch and suspicious spots on the liver. So, he advised us that more chemo will be needed. We are VERY happy we went there. They were wonderful and thorough. Please pray for a healthy liver for my dad. So we can proceed with the next step. We will be going back to Pittsburgh for the results in 2 weeks.
Thanks!!0
