Saundra's surgery

This is Saundra's husband Joe. Her debulking surgery on Friday was a huge success! Surgeons did remove the spleen, but left the colon alone. Three small lesions on liver were removed. She's recovering at Baylor Medical in Dallas. The docs are saying "optimum results obtained."

    I can't tell you how happy I am to hear those wonderful results! You must have been so elated when you were told. And I would imagine Saundra is pleased with the outcome as well. When a doctor calls it 'optimum results', that's extremely encouraging.

    Thank you for taking the time to update all of us. Please tell Saundra we send our love a prayers for a quick recovery and to head home soon!

    Monika, I'll relay your message. She's pretty groggy and sore, but I hope she can walk a little and use the toilet today. Joe

    Thank you for taking the time to update us on Saundra's surgery! It's wonderful to hear that the surgery went so well. Now she can focus on recovery. She's going to need your help for awhile, so be sure to take good care of yourself so that you're up to the task. Get plenty of rest, eat well, and try not to let he stress of all this get to you! If it becomes too much to handle, remember that there are lots of great people on these boards you can talk to! Whishing you both the best during this next phase of your journey!

    Monday morning, and she's doing much better. Will walk some today. She's much more alert, but still pretty sore. (No hugs!) - Joe
