Wilm's Tumor-Chemotherapy

Hi. I am new to this website. I am now 24 years old and was diagnosed when I was 3. I have never had a relapse, but there is a big mystery I can't solve. In the past 2 years, I have been dealing with strange illnesses that don't go away. My family doctor is confused because every test comes back negative, but luckily some medications help the symptoms. It has been very frustrating because my life has drastically changed from being highly active to inactive, and as a result, my college education has suffered. I was wondering if anyone is in a similar situation or if anyone knows of any long term side effects of chemo or anything that might help shed light on this situation. I, and my doctor, are at our wits end. Thank you.

Hi Anthony,
Your story is not unusual among long term cancer survivors. You might find help in a couple of places. First you should get a copy of Nancy Keene's book Childhood Cancer Survivors. This may be very helpful. And you might also like to join the discussion group for survivors of childhood cancers at www.acor.org Look for the mailing lists and join the LTS group. There you will be able to ask your question to other Wilm's survivors. It is a great place for getting immediate answers to your questions.
Best wishes,
Linda Zame0
