    share your joy
Great news Paul. I know exactly how you feel. After 4 chemo sessions my wife's ct last week showed a reduction of 50% and we felt like the weight of the world slid off of our shoulders. She is going to start a phase two clinical study regime today that our doctor recommended her for. It is a new maintenance treatment that looks promising. I hope you keep us posted on your wife's progress. There is hope for us.

    Maintenance
Do you mind sharing a little more about the regiman that your wife will use for maintenance. I like to look those things up.

My wife has three more treatments of carboplatin, taxol, avastin and cetuximab. She takes the first three every three weeks for six cycles, and the cetuximab weekly.

When she is done, she will continue weekly cetuximab and tri-weekly avastin for maintenance. Side note: how come tri-weekly means three times per week AND once every three weeks?

    clinical trial
The drug is imetelstat being developed by Geron Corp. I know there are 20 sites around the country conducting the trials but I don't know where they are. My wife had the same chemo treatments minus the cetuximab and for four cycles.
triweekly, guess it could mean either one. Or both. or whatever. :)
