My father is diagnosed with Stage4 colorectal, liver infected
    Hi,

I am in a shock and complete down for the last week because my father was diagnosed with Stage4 colorectal and his liver is infected. He is 63 years old.
I am really worried about the options that his oncologist and surgeon(s) suggested, that is just chemo at this point.
He was on his first chemo since past 3 days , we don't see any side effects. I have to find out on what medicines he is on in chemo.
Our whole family is so depressed to learn about my father condition.

I just found out about your discussions, if you don't mind can you please share surgeon's name. We want to approach him for his liver infection.

    Regards

    Hi there!
Your post in at the end of an older post so I'm sorry but, I missed it. I want to welcome you to the board. We have lots of people with big hearts and great experience to share here. My reply will help to bump you up so others can see you here.

I know this is a difficult time for your whole family. Take time to breathe. I am so sorry that he and your family is going through this. It is a very good thing that he isn't having chemo side effects. This will make it easier to treat him. Since he is a stage 4 they absolutely want to get the chemo going so they can stop and control any spread.

Where are you located? Where is his cancer located? If it is in his colon, has he had surgery to remove the colon tumor? Has your father gotten a second opinion yet? These are the kind of questions that will really help us with what information we have to share.

Again welcome and breathe. there are many stage 4s here that have some good time under their belt. I will send out some very good luck and best wishes to you.

    Thank you for your wishes.
    Thank you for your wishes.
I am located in USA but my dad is located in India.
He has cancer near colon, effecting lymphnodes and spread to his liver.

He got second opinion and was suggested just chemo at this point of time to control the spread.
As the treatment options in India are not good compared to USA and UK, I am worried.
