Suggestion after a PET scan

I had a PET scan on the 21st of Oct. Praise the Lord the results were great. The person who administered the radio active stuff told me to drink a gallon of African Rooibos Red Tea as soon as I got home. I did. He says it helps to wash the radiation out. I thought I would share this. I drank a gallon in less than an hour and half so you can imagine where I spent most of my time:) The tea is made by Twinings of London. I found it at our Publix in Tampabay area Florida. Worth a try!!! I didn't need any sweetener. It was good.

Don't know anything about drinking red tea but I would think you need to be careful drinking that much fluid in that short a time. Not really good for your brain or kidneys. I know people who drink too much water can get a bad brain condition but don't remember what it's called. I'd check with my doctor first. Just my opinion.

Joanie I'm so glad your latest pet was clear. Yippee!!!

    I've heard that also...
    Hi Joanie,
I've also heard, like Leslie, that you should never drink a huge amount of fluid in a short time period. A galon is a alot to get down in a day...more over in an hour or so. YIKES! I thought my belly was going to pop last Wed when they made me drink that 38oz bottle of water before my CT scan. Geez...I peed a zillion times for at least 3 hours after drinking all of that....can't even imagine a galon! Love Sue..(FNHL-2-3A-6/10)

    Thanks
    Thanks Joanie,
My grandaughter took the picture last week. I'm amazed I still have my hair, but I'm only half way through 6 rounds, so I figure it will probably get thinner from here on. Hope you have a great week. Love...Sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10)

    Suggestion after a PET scan
Hi Joanie - so very happy to hear your scan was geat - what a relief! We were in Tampa twice in October to see Dr. Sotomayer and to have another biopsy. He felt my Indolent had moved to Aggressive, but that didn't prove to be true. Waiting for his recommendation for new treatment - he was leaning towards CHOP before the biopsy - hope he's changed his mind since that one scares me. CVP-R was very mild compared to it and I did fine, it just didn't shrink the big tumor. Wil be emailing you with CHOP questions if that's the choice!

Sue - I love you new picture too! Fran
