As usual and if weather allowed go to my beach House rest, and a little of
boating! Boring! l Rather prefer an adventure in the Jamaican jungle or so!
Have a Funny weekend .
We're going to a party at a friend's house (in upstate NY). She's of Spanish origin and flies to Spain frequently to visit family (works for the airlines,an can do that!) She's making a paella over an open fire. We're bringing a side salad and a super pie, plus musical instruments.
Eating, singing, drinking, dancing, good company - what could be better; a touch of espana in New York State.
I'll report back on Monday, but knowing Clara, she has EVERYTHING right. She'll have picked up anything that might not be available here during one of her frequent jaunts to Espana. If she's making paella, you can be sure your mother would approve of how she's doing it.
Sangria - por supuesto!
(Hablo un poquito espanol. Je parle francais beaucoup mieux!)
My plans are to hide from Hurricane Earl. Actually here on Eastern Long Island we are forecast for more tropical storm conditions than actual hurricane. As long as my power doesn't go out I'll be happy
Alice you got everything for a good meal, despite always y tried to have paella in the US was not the same but don't
doubt your friend is capable to achieve real paella even in the Wonderful New York!
Bon appetite ma petite amie!
Brandy Alexander Pie - mmmm! I gain 5 pounds just thinking about it - lots of heavy cream, cognac, creme de cacao - good stuff! Oh, and did I mention the cream?
To Friesland, at the top of the country, to see some wonderful friends that we have known for years....my beau went to University with him in Amsterdam....back in the 60's...ROFL!
Sunday, going back north to a HUGE 'vlooienmarkt' (swap meet) at the TT center (the TT is a very large motorcycle race....folks come from all over...but it's held in June or July, so the hall will only be for us 'snufflers'....lol!).
Tonight is dinner at home with friends, and the first full day of sun was today!!!! We biked to the market in the center of town to do our shopping. Every week there is fresh fish, cheese, bread, baked goods, fruit and vegies, new clothing, etc all for sale...and we walk thru a town center that was built in the 1700's...
Not much going on here this weekend. I could go to the Ocotberfest at the fairgrounds or the Air show on the lake, but have not yet decided! But Pepe, a beach house sounds fabulous right about now!
Hey Kathy (klh8), from your post I am guessing you are from the Northeast Ohio area as those are also two of my options this weekend. If yes, you may want to think about the Great Geauga County Fair also. It's out near Amish country and it's a REAL county fair. Good Times. I used to watch the airshow from a distance with binoculars but I may actually go this year. I'm also going to get to Waldamere park in PA. My kids love it there and this is the last weekend. Have fun...
Chris
Hi Chris,
Howdy from Cleveland! I have never been to the Geauga county fair, I really should try it some time! I have been to the airshow quite a few times and it is a good time when it is not too hot out, and this weekend it will not be too hot here as you well know! I went to Octoberfest last year but still had my Ileostomy so it was not as much fun, always on the edge waiting for that thing to leak. But this year???? I am thinking beer and bratwurst!!
Why yes, of course there is always some crisis in the US Pepe but I haven't been shopping in 3 months and alas, it is time....Hope you ALL have a great weekend.
Just to let you know I spent all of $12.64 today.I doubled coupons so saved about $10.00 on original price. Now, how exciting is that?? Oh yeah, I bought me & my Mom each a junior hamburger...99 cents each. Big time spender, huh?
It was an absolutely gorgeous day here in the deep south today. Clear blue skies, low humidity, and 82 degrees. Perfect!
@ pepebcn: Can't travel this weekend -- or for a while -- but my "imaginary" weekend would be Bali....And I'm gonna get there sometime! It's on my "list"
Thank you!! When I was in Loret Del Mar (sp??)I ate some really good sardines, I think they were a grilled appetizer, how do they fix them? Do you know?
Well, tonight, I'm preparing baked dove from the doves my husband and son shot on opening day for dove season Sept 1st. No one else in the family wants to eat them- I'm not real enthused either- but my husband is excited about eating what he shot, so I'll be a good sport and go along with it. :)
Tomorrow (Sat), our family is going to Sea World (San Diego). We have season passes this year & this weekend is the last for the summer shows, fireworks, and later night hours. This is an "off" week for me from chemo, so it's the best timing for going somewhere where I have to do a lot of walking. Looking forward to it, but I'm sure it will be crowded due to the holiday weekend. We probably won't do anything much else Sunday or Monday out of the ordinary.
Started my weekend off with a colonoscopy yesterday. All went well, hust a couple of very small polyps that the Doc biopsied. I'm sure they are nothing. So, Sheri and I will just be hanging out at home and probably due a little BBQing. Can't decide on regular steaks or tuna steaks, both are yummy.
Went to our first High School Football Game of the season last night. Perfect weather. Today taking my daughter and a friend to an adventure course. Zip line and rock climbing. Sunday-Church and shopping while my daughter is at tennis lessons. Monday family BBQ. Tuesday back to school. My daughter is in ninth grade and I teach 7th grade.
I love this post. It is great to see how we are all "living" with cancer. Have a great weekend.
This weekend is preparation for next weekend. Getting the boat ready and the 4wd . All my fishing reels are serviced ,my lures are all packed. Heading to a remote estuary on the mid Qld coast for a week of crabbing fishing and exploring. Hope my health lets me get thru the week cos I intend to fish till I drop:):):) Ron.
My daughters have gone to a circus camp for a week or two every summer for several years. One daughter has friends doing a trapeze act at a small fair. We have traveled from our home in upstate NY to southern VT to watch her friends perform tomorrow.
My husband will be getting his reversal surgery following his rectal cancer DX in October 2009.
He's all excited but I'm really nervous about the outcome.
In order to calm my jitters we're leaving tomorrow morning for a few days vacation in Rhode Island.
Hope the weather is nice because up here in Canada, today feels like fall is catching up to us.
Have a wonderful weekend
Theresa
I am at work ...I work at an electric producing power plant. I am sitting here at this moment eating Banana Nut Bread and having my coffee...Yes people, I am getting paid for this...
Life is Good.....
I also am singing a solo at church tomorrow morning service "Hold You Up" by Matthew West...I am dedicating this song to my wife.........

My dad would cook dove...I don't think I ate it. Knowing my Dad, I might have and he told me it was chicken.
I tried to get my friends house in Oceanside, but I have not heard from her. If it's a go I will let you know we are close by! I decided to pm you too
