My name is Kat and I am 24 years old. I was diagnosed with A.L.L when I was 4 years old and I went into remission when I was 10. Though I was young I remember everything I went through from being diagnosed, through my chemo and treatments, all the way into my remission. From spinal taps, to leg shots, from watching friends I had made in the hospital dying of the same thing that I had, I remember it all. I have also been through many, MANY family deaths and triumphs through many various forms of cancer from lung to brain tumors, down to cervical and have seen the trials that not only one person faces with one type of cancer, but what many people face with many different types of cancers. I was at stage 3 when I was miraculously healed, the doctors also told me I would never be able to have children, and I am now a mother of 4. I am sure there are some people in the world who may not believe in God, but from what I learned, I fully believe in the power of prayer. I never lost my hair, and though I was in stage 3, I remember one check up I wasn't doing good at all, and in the following check up I had went into remission. Though it may be hard for people to believe in that, it is true, and so I am here, reaching out to others who may need advice, or someone to just listen while they vent, or for others who just want to talk with someone who has went through the same trials, I am here for you. I am not here to preach, or to tell you what to do or not to do, I am only here to be there for someone else. So thank you for reading this, and I hope you know you have people on here who do care, all of us, joining together, it's a beautiful thing.

    Kat, thank you.
Kat, thank you for your encouraging words. I'm so sorry for what you have gone through but glad you are in remission and have 4 kids! I'm not sure what A.L.L. is. I'm so new to this cancer world. You have gone through alot in your 24 years and seem to have come out of it as a strong person with strong faith in prayer. I have prayed throughout my whole life for it wasn't the best, either. Not nearly as bad as what you have gone through but emotionally there was literally noone there for me. All I had was prayer, sometimes they were answered, sometimes not. Now I feel really abandoned but know this is not the way to be and I'm ashamed of it. After my chemo treatments is usually the worst so I keep thinking its just the drugs. But I feel all hope is gone sometimes, like there is nothing to look forward to. Is this the cancer? I don't know. I admire people that are strong and positive for I struggle deeply with this. I feel guilty and ashamed for even opening up about this because I know its not normal and know people struggling with so much worse and are so much stronger mentally...or at least appear that way. The worst for me is when I'm at work and I'm in pain from the chemo or neulasta shots and people tell me to smile...usually I am. It seems so insensitive. Anyway, thanks again and you are truly an inspiration.
