Cycling and incontinence

I recall a couple board members mentioning cycling. I finally got the nerve to straddle a bike seat a while back. Started slowly; 15 minute rides then multiple 15 minute rides a day. Everything was fine so I extended to 30 minute rides, sometimes several a day. When I finally got to hour to hour and a half rides my incontinence increased. I tried quick "nature" breaks every 30-40 minutes but that doesn't seem to help; if I ride an hour or more I leak and it continues for a while after the ride.

Has anyone else seen an incontinence change from cycling? I was where a number of other members are; "99%" continent but, unlike some, I still wear a pad because I don't want the 1% in my drawers.

Thanks,
VB

    I ride a stationary bike 3
I ride a stationary bike 3 days a week at the gym for 6 miles each ride. haven't had any problem. At 7 weeks post surgery I rode a moped for about 6 hours in Bermuda again with no problems but a 'sore butt'. Last week (8 months post surgery) I moved some pretty huge pieces of trees that I had cut up with no problems.

A few times I have felt what I thought would be an oh no moment but then checking and all is dry.

I guess I'm one of the 'lucky ones'

    You certainly are Larry
I have been doing landscaping around the house and digging or other physical efforts do increase my leakage! It's more an annoyance than anything else...once I stop the activity I'm fine..so just put a half pad on when I'm headed out to work.

I am certainly glad the testers wo do the urodynamic testing- don't know what that is? - haven't thought of having a testee (me yesterday)ride around on a bike for 15 min nake with tubes hanging from ......

    I'm still thinking about yesterday.

Almost any activity makes me leak. That is why I had the testing done yesterday- to see if I really leak, or if it is just pretend leaking. :)

Trew - I figured out a sure fire way to stop the leaking.....You should have had a picture made yesterday while you were in your birthday suit with all those tubes, etc. Post it for a profile picture and it will scare anyone into being leakfree!

No problem bicyclying after 3 weeks. Just rode the ATV two hours yesterday(after five weeks), no leaks. Guess I was lucky(so far), got rid of the pads after two weeks. BOL!
