Hi to all,
Hope everyone is doing alright and hanging in there. I am currently a basket case! I go back for my first follow up PET scan tomorrow to see if I am still in remission. It seems to have come so fast and I am nervous and all creeped out. It's hard to say how I'm feeling physically because I don't think I have all of my pre chemo stamina back yet but it gets better each day. Wish me luck. Thanks.
Mary

    Hey Edwin,
I got back from Mayo a short time ago and my PET scan showed a complete remission. I am so relieved and thankful. I had 6 treatments of R CHOP from Oct.6Th,2009 thru Jan.26Th,2010. All in all it went very well. Now I am faced with a very big decision as to where to go from here. I can either have Rituxan once every 3 months as maintenance or Zevalin. My MD will leave it up to me. I am not knowing what to do. The research is showing Zevalin to be far superior so it seems like a no brainer but there's a lot involved. With Rituxan I know what to expect but the payoff won't be as good. I am going to post now and see if anyone has any info or advice for me. Thanks for your response. Hope all is well.

    Yay
Thank God you're ok I'm happy for ya. I am going to start my chemo hopefully by next month. I have to search on zevalin to see if it's a better drug than rituxamab. Well keep in touch and let us now how you feel and your check ups. God bless you and your family.

    Hi Mary,

Congratulations on your clear PET scan, good for you. I love good news. I wish my onc could get results same day, I always have to wait days, this time almost a week because of his schedule and our slow slow hospital. The waiting is the worst. I had a CT today and won't get results until next Wednesday. I think by than I'll be on Xanax to sleep. Just have to think positive and keep my nerves under control.

Anyway, I'm so happy your results were wonderful!

    Zevalin
My onc told me that if the lymphoma is not in your bone marrow that zevalin could cause problems for me down the road (he said 10-15 years from now) and that's when I chose only the rituxan for now.

I wonder why they recommended both chemo and zevalin.

    Hi Dixiegirl,
Do you have any idea why your onc said it might cause problems down the line. I wonder if it had to do with the radiation. I know I did recently ask my onc if it was used with aggressive lymphomas, which is what I have, and he said I'd be getting more radiation. Since I've already had problems with radiation I don't think I'd want to use it but would like as much information as I can get.
Thanks and good luck to you,
