    I am there too
    I am having the same exact problems...I have been on it all too...The doc is giving me Ativan the night before and the day of plus emend, and zofran too...Then he is giving me extra fluids with potassium then camptosar and avatin...The camptosar makes me have dry heaves,big time nausea and very dehydrated..It was so bad last time that I wound up in the hospital for 3 days...So beieve me I know how you feel...They are now also cutting my meds back by 50% which makes me leary about it working but he said I need to get this in my system... So you are not alone in this battle by a long shot...I get drug tested at work so I can't smoke anything otherwise I think I would try it why not what do you have to loose at this point....So good luck let usknow how you make out...JULIE

    I'm awaiting disconnect appointment at 1:45. Thank you for your thoughts and response. I'm feeling pretty good have been taking the steroids with the emend and I can feel the difference:) also the fresh Ginger is helping too. Thanks to everyone round 5 down 7 more to the finish line:)

    Just wanted to let you know that I had the same problems with nausea and tried all of the meds you have. I live in CA so marijuana is legal for medicinal purposes. It did the trick. I would take 1 or 2 puffs and the nausea would stop immediatley. You are right about different kinds. The dispensary I got mine from was very informative and had me try several different kinds to see what was most effective. I don't think I would have made it all the way through treatment without the marijuana. Let me know if you h ave any questions.

    I'm trying MM tomorrow when I get home from treatment. It'll be the first for me with fighting this disease. Can you tell me what kind you used? I wasn't sure which one worked so I will be experimenting. Thank God we live in CA so we can use MM...

    I"ll be using MM tomorrow but I've found that peppermint helps with the nausea and so does a topical cream. There is also a suppository for nausea. Ask you dr about it. Also I have ginger honey for tea and I've been going to a treatment called "healing hands". It's helps with clearing out your mind of the memory of nausea. I was having it so bad I would have dry heaves up to two weeks after treatment. But this last treatment was amazing. IT was like I had not had any treatment at all after only 5 days.     Ginger Root pills and sucking lemon citrus drops helped me.

    Hi Jill,

    I posted last night but my computer went down and lost everything. I was very fortunate with the dispensary I used. They actually came to my home. It was funny...A man with a briefcase full of samples came and sat in my family room and educated me about the different types. Hehe. I tried several that he recommended (not all at once). I don't know if they all use the same names or not - theyare kinda funny too. MasterJack,Flat Top, Garlic, Org.Purps. They were all a little different but all worked immediately on nausea. I used a glass pipe that is supposed to be easier on your lungs than a joint. My 20 year old daughter went to the local tobacco store and bought me a "pretty one". haha. I only needed to take one or 2 puffs so it didn't bother my lungs. There are vaporizers that work good but they are kinda expensive. Hope this is helpful. If you have any questions let me know.     Just wondering if you took Ativan after disconnect. I take it from the day infusion starts then conntinue it until 5 days after. I get treatments on Wednesday, that is when I start the Ativan, 1mg at night, then I take 1 mg for the next 5 nights. I sometimes have to add 1/2 to 1 mg during the two days after disconnect (those are the worst days). I found also that i was getting so much medication around infusion and disconnect time that the antinausea meds were making me sick. Now I take Emend for 3 days, and get Aloxi at infusion time, take Ativan at bedtime. Friday is disconnect day and I use to get more Aloxi but now I just get fluids. (Before I got a lot more stuff but it just seemed to agrivate the whole thing.)

    I noticied you did not include phenergen on your list. This is my go to med when all else fails. Others have mentioned fluids-these are so important, also I found I had to rest. This is hard for me but this last weekend all I did was sleep and I feel better today.

    I hope things are going better.
