Diet pre and post liver surgery?

hey i was just wondering does anyone have any tips for getting the liver in shape pre surgery and helping it heal afterwards---

    Liver Resection Diet
    Lisa,

    My hubby David, Stage 4 with liver met, is being treated at MD Anderson. He has a portal vein embolization scheduled for tomorrow and the doctors here told him a few weeks ago to go on a high protein and low fat diet both before and after the resection to make sure the future liver remnant, as they call it, regenerates efficently and healthy. He is having about 75 per cent of his liver removed four weeks after the embolization here at MD Anderson. He had previously been told no resection due to location, but got a big yes here. Needless to say, we are thrilled.
