By 9 AM this morning I will be back at my cancer center. Once my port gets flushed, as it hasn't been useed since first round ended mid-July,I will start my second round of chemo consisting of 5FU,Leucovorin and Oxy with a pump.Wanted to delay but onc suggested otherwise. Back on the rollercoaster!!!!!!I ####### hate this but i HATE cancer even more.....Steve

    Well by my clock you are there now and beginning treatment. I wish you the best through this session. Keep us informed as to how your treatments are affecting you (or not hopefully). I just completed the same mixture. Good luck!

    Thanking all who wished me well BUT:
    the port would not work. Chemo nurses kept trying to flush it to no avail so Iwas sent to hospital. TPA (I think that's what it was) was tried and doctor couldn't get it to work either. Now I have to decide if I want a temporary PICC to get chemo started or another port. Have no idea what to do. Will ask for advice in another message.....Steve

    Get another port........
    Chemo is hard enough on the veins as it is.....get another port installed and then after chemo make dang sure that its flushed at least every 6 weeks or it will plug up again...
