Rituxan and Interleukin 21 research trial

My husband who is stage 4 with NHL and is 2 years post stem cell has relapsed. They have asked him to participate in the IL-21 study at UCLA. He begins next week. Has anyone had any success with research trials?? I know its supposed to benefit others in the future, just holding onto hope that it can also benefit him.
