hello,I was diagnosed with papillary carcinoma in 1997,but way before that I always felt lethargic and had bone crushing headaches along with depressed feelings. My bones ached, my vision was always fuzzy and i was in my early 30's.I thought I was at the end of the road.My question to anyone listening,is this lethargic feeling common amongst thyroid cancer survivors? My doc told me that the cancer is still active by veiwing my blood tests results.Anti bodies are high and thryo-globulin is still high.OK ,can anyone relate?thanks!

If my Synthroid is not correct then I feel that way. HAve you had another radioactive Iodine treatment for the Cancer. I was diagnosed in 99 ans just had another treatment last summer. The same dose as first time. My findings were activity in my neck and all microscopic. No tumors found. I have a body scan each summer since 99. Can't say if it was cancer for sure or not. No choice.Do treatment. I have never had headaches or fuzzy vision.

I was 19 when I was diagnosed and 21 when it came back. I would have really bad days to where I wanted to sleep all day. I would spend most days crying. My husband didnt know what to do. He felt more sorry for me than trying to comfort me. I have now had good throglobulin levels for the past two years now, but I still go through depression now and again.

I also have papillary carcinoma diagnosed originally in 1989 and had a complete thyroidectomy. They did not do any follow up and throughout the years, if my medication was off, I felt like you. I switched doctors since mine was watching my blood work as well and last year my new doctor discovered a recurrance. Just had a radical neck dissection and they believe they got everything. The moral of the story - I agree with Cindy C - follow up on treatment. Good luck!

I had thyroid cancer for four years about 21 years ago. I also felt this way with mine. I was only 22 years old when I was diagnosed and had a 9 month old son. I was extremely depressed before and during my cancer. I think this goes along with thyroid problems regardless of cancer related or not. I ALWAYS felt 'spaced out' during my high school years but didn't know why until I found out about the cancer. I had 3 operations and ratiation but now am cancer free and have been for a long time. Now that I am on synthroid, I feel much better in relation to the 'spaced out' thing:) No depression to speak of. What kind of treatment are you having?
